I am a Research Director and Distinguished Principal Scientist in the Computational Systems and Technology Division at University of Southern California’s Information Sciences Institute. I leads research across a broad range of topics, unified by the theme of heterogeneous systems. My projects span deeply embedded (e.g., resource-constrained) space and edge systems to supercomputers with research that encompasses resource managers, cloud computing and virtualization, fault tolerance, and heterogeneous compilers and much more. A recent interest of mine is the application of AI to resource management and signal processing. I occasionally teach the EE557 graduate computer architecture course at USC. I’ve led projects both large and small from sponsors including ONR, NASA, DARPA, IARPA and the intelligence community. Prior to joining ISI, I was a postdoc at the University at Buffalo.
